Terms of service
These terms apply to content-writing work done by Mark Mosley, trading as Mosley Content (“I”, “me”), for a client (“you”). They are meant to be clear rather than clever. If anything is unclear, ask before we start.
Scope of work
The scope of each project is agreed in writing before work begins. For most projects I will send an outline first, and I will not start writing until you have approved it. Anything not in the agreed scope is not included.
Revisions
Two rounds of edits are included in the agreed price.
Extra rounds of edits, and any change to the agreed scope, will be quoted separately before I do the work.
What I need from you
You agree to:
- give me accurate source material and tell me promptly if it changes
- respond to questions and feedback in good time, as delays on your side may move the delivery date
- check all technical, legal and financial claims in the finished work before you publish it
I take care over accuracy, but I am a writer and not your lawyer, accountant or technical reviewer. You are responsible for what you publish.
No financial advice
I do not provide financial or investment advice, and I do not write price predictions. Where I write about financial or crypto topics, the content is informational only. I may decline work that would require me to do otherwise.
Payment
Prices are quoted in US dollars (USD).
- Deposit: 50% of the agreed fee, paid before work starts.
- Invoices are due within 14 calendar days.
- Currency of payment: US dollars (USD).
Work may be paused if an invoice is overdue.
Ownership and copyright
Once you have paid in full, copyright in the finished work transfers to you. Until then, it remains with me.
I keep the right to my own notes, research and general know-how.
Portfolio use
I may show the work in my portfolio, unless it is covered by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Work under an NDA stays out of my portfolio.
Confidentiality
I will keep your non-public information confidential and use it only to do the work. This does not apply to information that is already public or that I am legally required to disclose. If you need a formal non-disclosure agreement, tell me before sharing sensitive material.
Cancellation
Either of us can cancel a project by telling the other in writing. What happens to payment is set out in the refund policy.
Limitation of liability
I will do the work with reasonable skill and care. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Beyond that, and as far as the law allows:
- my total liability to you for any claim connected with a project is limited to the fees you paid me for that project
- I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit, lost business or damage to reputation
- I am not responsible for losses that result from material you supplied, or from you publishing content without checking it as described above
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when we agree a project is the one that applies to that project.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction.
